On 25 May 2018 the Data Protection Act was replaced by the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). The new regulations require all organisations that collect personal data to inform its members of its Data Protection Policy, what the organisation intends to do with that data and how members can complain if they believe their data is being mishandled.

David Harper has been appointed as the Data Controller and will act as its Data Protection Officer. Any queries or complaints concerning the use of your personal data should in the first instance be directed to the Officer, but if still dissatisfied you have a right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk. art-K Hove and art-K Ltd. currently obtain and hold details of the club member names (and their parents name if a child), e-mail address, contact telephone, date of birth (not of parents or adults), the date the member started at art-K Hove, a section for any necessary child-safeguarding notes and their physical address on the ClassForKids platform. The information is used to send accurate invoices to parents or adults, and the date of birth of children is used to ensure the correct art projects are offered to the club member. Notes concerning child-safeguarding are used solely for that purpose. Email addresses and phone numbers are used for individual communication. No other personal data is held and none will be passed to 3rd parties without authority from the individual concerned.

art-K Hove may, if given permission, take photos and videos of people in its clubs to celebrate creative art work for the purpose of promoting the club. No names will be tagged, and no personal information is connected, but the pictures will be associated with a club's location.

Under the new regulations, individuals (members) are required to specifically provide their consent to their data being recorded and used in a particular way. The consent requested on joining art-K is the following: 

• My/ my child's name, age and health concerns being held securely on the ClassForKids platform accessed by the Art Club Leader and art-K Ltd HQ in order to deliver the art-K classes.
• My email address and phone number being held and used for the purposes of communication by the Company for reasons of the well-being of me or my child or for the coordination of delivering the art-K service.
• If I've provided consent at the time of registration; my face or my child's face appearing in pictures and videos that are used in on-line galleries of the art-K artwork.

If you do not consent to these terms please do not input your or your child's data onto the ClassForKids platform.

Changes to your permissions can be sent at any time to the Officer by email to customerservice@art-k.co.uk
